Mini Series

Inspirations

I gather inspiration from a wide variety of sources. Movies, music, and even video games can inspire someone to push themselves above and beyond what they once were. In this series I highlight all the places I get inspiration from. Some are obvious, but others may seem like the antithesis of inspiring.
Check out Rocky!
Check out Jurassic Park (plus Return of the Jedi)!

A Documentary: “How I Became A Comedian”

This series documents my journey of becoming a stand up comedian. It starts with my very first set ever and works its way back to current day.

John Gibbons In Japan

I went to Japan this summer and shot 13 tapes in Osaka, Tokyo, Nara, Hiroshima, and Miyajima. I’ll be putting together shorts just to show my friends and those who are interested what I did while I was there. They won’t all be funny and it’s not directly related to my comedy, but if you’re interested subscribe my new youtube channel where I’ll be posting all my videos from Japan.
Here’s a preview of what you’re in store for:

In case you missed the GIANT links above:

Quest For A Mega Man 9 World Record

After taking a year to become a comedian, returned to my fellow nerds to find myself be subject to massive ridicule for lacking what it really takes to be called “nerd.” To regain my nerd cred I have set out on a quest to set a world record in Mega Man 9.

Banana Chan!

Oh god. Poor you. You’re going to click the link aren’t you? Don’t tell anyone I didn’t warn you. Good luck.

Local Side Projects

Bring Back Comedy

I started Bring Back Comedy after seeing that Lawrence KS was completely devoid of stand up. After doing stand up for almost a year, I wanted to open the door to other local talent that always wanted to do stand up, but simply never had the chance to.
Bring Back Comedy’s first show was in September of 2008 and since then it has grown as fast and as large as a pornographic super pee pee. Currently there are over a dozen members and each member will have their own page here on my site. We perform exclusively in Lawrence KS, but we perform in many different venues.

Update: January 25th, 2009
