Universal Studios VS Nintendo: The Lost Story

This is a video from the Play Value series. This video starts with Colecovision and it’s history, but at 5:15 there is a very cool and sparsely known story about Universal Studios filing a law suite against Nintendo for copyright infringement on “Kong Kong” with their game “Donkey Kong”. Universal turned out to be total fucking tards, because just seven years earlier Universal filed a suite that proved that “King Kong” was so old it was public domain so that they could film a remake of it.

Currently I’m working on the “King of Kong” review, so look for that soon. It’ll be my first movie review, and it’s a movie I love so I really want to nail this one.

Awesome, I never knew about this little spat. Fucking funny, too.
