A Very Venture Top 5 Friday
Holy Crap! The last four days have been 16 hour days of work (ie. real job) and video making. God damn, it’s been busy. But as promised here is the “Monarch and Video Game Violence: Part 1″ video.
And for an extra bonus here are my Top 5 Favorite Venture Bros. episodes.
#5 - Season 3 Episode 8: Tears of a Sea Cow
Seeing the Monarch pour his unhinged rage (and bodily fluids) all over the venture compound while the henchmen are in top form, make this a fine first step onto the count down.
#4 - Season 3 Episode 13: The Family That Slays Together, Stays Together Part II
Clone army VS monarch army VS the OSI? Need I say more? How about “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? WHYYYYYYYYYY?!?”
#3 - Season 1 Episode 10: Tag Sale, You’re It!
This episode is what made me really fall in love with not only the Monarch (”I’m not even going to flush, let them witness the wrath of the Monarch!”) but the series as a whole. Between a fake light saber wielded by 21 going completely “Star Wars Kid” on brock and Dr. Orpheus going completely mental trying to earn an arch, this episode is a classic that really set the tone of the series.
#2 - Season 2 Episode 6 : Victor Echo November
What makes this episode so memorable was the mixing of so many characters so well. The Monarch, Phantom Limb, the henchmen, Dr. Girlfriend, Triana, Hank, Dean, Brock, the Guild of Calamitous Intent and Dr. Venture all have there own stories (each of which are hilarious) get mashed together in a brilliant and even more hilarious way. Not to mention they find the time to pull off a hilarious joke regarding Billy’s missing hand.
#1 - Season 2 Episode 2 : Hate Floats
Back when I lived with my Goat House crew, Adult Swim was a weekly ritual. I can’t remember any cartoon making all of us laugh so hard, and ALL IN THE FIRST 2 MINUTES! This not only made the henchmen stand out as some of the best characters in this series, but any cartoon series. From this episode on, the series picked up a momentum that has yet to stop.
